FULL SERVICE CATERING COMPANY ADDS ELIZABETHAN TO THE MENU
Founders Collaborate to Grow all Three Brands
ENCINITAS, CA SEPTEMBER 17, 2021— JCREW, Inc announced the purchase of Elizabethan Desserts, Inc. with the completion of the transaction set for the end of this month. This will unite three brands native to the San Diego area: California’s Best Catering & Events, which provides food, beverage, service and rentals for weddings, corporate events and private functions; Elizabethan Desserts, which makes fresh baked cakes and other sweet treats for all occasions; and Betty’s Pie Whole Saloon, a local favorite for its line of both sweet and savory pies.

“This transaction is the logical next step in the evolution of the companies I began 20 years ago, and I am thrilled to play a creative role in the larger company as we expand our offerings and explore options for growth,” Harris remarked. “Customers will continue to see a lot of me!”
Currently the combined staff is at 20 employees, about half of whom are full time and the other half part-time, though they are looking to hire more for the holidays. “We will be producing about 4,400 hand crafted pies over the next few months to meet anticipated holiday demand,” Jones said. Hiring additional staff will also allow for expanded hours of operation as well.
JCREW, Inc. launched in 2018 in the Kearny Mesa area, dba California’s Best Catering & Events. Elizabethan Desserts, Inc. originally launched in 2001, continues its operations at 114 N El Camino Real in Encinitas, and is currently closed on Sundays and Mondays.
